Circa 300 BC
This reproduction is forged from high carbon steel, shaped with a fuller running along the blade to lighten it without sacrificing structural integrity. The handle is crafted with buffalo horn scales, smoothed and riveted firmly to a full tang reinforced with steel spacers and finished with a solid pommel. This construction ensures a well-balanced weapon that can withstand the rigors of battle. The accompanying leather scabbard features adjustable shoulder straps, allowing the bearer to carry the sword comfortably whether marching or engaged in combat.
This blade honors the straightforward, effective design favored by ancient Greek warriors who needed a weapon both durable and deadly in the chaos of melee.
Can be personalized with 3 Initials (select below left).
Fun fact: The distinctive forward curve of the Kopis blade influenced the design of later cavalry sabers, as it allowed mounted warriors to deliver powerful slashing strikes while riding at speed.
