Description
This Medieval High-Backed chair stands as a sturdy piece fitting for a lord’s hall, a feast table, or the seat of a King or Baron during reenactments or roleplay. Crafted from solid, seasoned mango wood, it bears the hallmarks of Gothic design: the quatrefoil cut-outs and recessed gothic arch motifs carved deeply into the thick wooden back evoke the architecture of grand cathedrals and noble estates from the Middle Ages.
The chair arrives unassembled, true to period construction methods. Its parts join together through interlocking joints, secured firmly by wooden wedges driven home to lock the frame without nails or metal fasteners. This technique not only reflects historical craftsmanship but also ensures the chair’s durability and ease of repair.
Important Note: Keep the packaging until you find the wooden wedges, which are usually bundled and taped inside the box or wrapped with other pieces. A rubber-headed mallet will be helpful to gently tap the wedges into place. Since the wedges vary slightly in shape, some will fit better in certain joints than others, take your time to find the best match. The armrests slot into the frame but are not fixed; for added stability, you might consider applying glue to hold them securely.
