Description

This German WWII K98 black leather bayonet frog is made from sturdy top-grain black finished leather, sewn together with waxed linen thread to withstand the rigors of field use. Its design closely follows the original frogs issued to German infantry, built to securely hold K98 style bayonets, including those produced in Yugoslavia. The frog fits belts up to 2 inches wide, allowing the bayonet to hang at the hip where a soldier could draw it swiftly in the heat of battle or during drills.

Fun fact: The scabbard for the German K98 bayonet often featured a metal tip called a chape, which protected the blade’s point and prevented the leather from wearing through when the bayonet was dragged or rested on the ground during marches and combat.
