Description
This bayonet is a faithful reproduction of a mid-WWII original, crafted to fit the German K-98 Mauser rifle as well as Yugoslavian, Czech, and most other K-98 variants. The blade is forged from 1095 high carbon steel, a material well-regarded among blacksmiths for its capacity to hold a sharp edge after careful tempering. This hardness makes the blade suitable for the cutting and thrusting motions expected in bayonet use. The metal parts are finished with a deep blued surface, which helps protect against rust and gives the bayonet its characteristic dark appearance. The wooden grips are treated with rubbed oil, improving grip while shielding the wood from moisture. The sheath is made of blued steel, built to protect the blade and keep it secure.
