Description
This arming dagger carries the hallmark of a blade forged for purpose and endurance. The double-edged blade is crafted from 1095 high carbon steel, known among smiths for its balance of hardness and toughness, capable of holding a keen edge while resisting chipping. Its polished surface not only resists rust but speaks to the care taken in finishing the steel. The handle is fashioned from tightly stacked and compressed bands of tanned leather, shaped to fit the hand comfortably and offer a secure grip even in the heat of battle. Crowning the handle is a steel nonagonal pommel, through which the blade’s full tang extends, this solid construction ensures the blade and handle act as one, a necessity when thrusting or parrying. The steel crossguard provides protection for the wielder’s hand, preventing it from sliding onto the blade during combat. Accompanying the dagger is a hand-tooled leather sheath, stained a deep rustic brown, designed to protect the blade and allow for easy carrying. Such daggers were often carried by knights and men-at-arms as a secondary weapon, prized for their reliability and straightforward design.
