Description
These two dice are forged by hand from solid iron, shaped carefully with hammer and anvil much like the tools and hardware crafted in any village forge. Iron’s density and strength give these dice a satisfying heft and a rugged texture. Their sharp edges and points speak to the smith’s craft, left unpolished unlike the smooth gaming pieces of today. Because of their hard, angular form, they are best rolled on rough wood or earthen surfaces, soft or delicate tabletops may bear dents or scratches from their impact. These dice carry the spirit of old tavern games, where chance and skill met beneath the flickering light of a hearth.
- Approx. 1/2″ x 1/2″
Fun fact: In medieval times, iron dice were sometimes used not only for games but also in divination and decision-making, as iron was believed to hold protective and mystical properties.
