Description
This here is the Japanese Legend of the Dragon Samurai Katana Sword, a blade forged in the spirit of the ancient smiths who walked the path of the warrior. The blade stretches 26.75 inches, crafted from high carbon steel,a choice metal that holds an edge true and sharp. You can see the Hamon, the temper line running along the blade’s edge, a mark left by the differential hardening process that gives the sword both strength and flexibility. The blade comes slightly sharpened, ready for careful finishing by its new wielder.
The Saya, or scabbard, is hewn from solid wood and finished with a glossy black lacquer, a traditional look that protects the blade and honors the craftsmanship within. Wrapped around the scabbard is a bull horn Sageo cord, used historically to secure the sword to the belt or for ceremonial purposes. Both the end cap and the throat of the scabbard are cast from aluminum alloy, each adorned with finely detailed scenes that tell tales of dragons and valor.
The handle, or tsuka, is built from wood and wrapped in a black nylon cord braided in the customary style, providing a firm grip and echoing centuries of samurai tradition. At its base sits a zinc alloy pommel shaped like a dragon, symbolizing power and protection. The guard, or tsuba, is fashioned from an aluminum zinc alloy into a square design, featuring twin dragons locked in eternal dance, guardians of the blade and its bearer. A decorative Habaki, the blade collar, secures the blade snugly into the handle, ensuring balance and stability in every swing.
