In Norse mythology, the Einherjar are the brave warriors who have fallen in battle and are chosen by the Valkyrie to dwell in Odin’s hall, Valhalla. These are the fighters who prepare to join Odin’s army for Ragnarok, the final battle. When I picture the sword they would wield, it would be something like this: a solid, battle-ready weapon forged from Damascus steel, layered between 400 and 520 times. This blade is made from a combination of 1095 carbon steel and 15N20 steel, giving it a balance of hardness and flexibility. With a Rockwell Hardness (HRC) rating between 58 and 60, the blade holds a keen edge while standing up to the rigors of combat.

The Damascus steel not only strengthens the blade but also reveals a distinctive flowing pattern,those wave-like lines tell the story of countless folds and hammer strikes, much like the tales sung by skalds around the fire. This sword’s full tang construction means the blade extends through the handle, providing strength and balance for fierce swings on the battlefield.

The handle is wrapped in genuine leather, offering a sure grip even in the heat of combat, while the guard and pommel are cast from brass. The guard bears Norse engravings that echo the artistry of Viking smiths, and the pommel is adorned with the Valknut symbol,the knot of the slain, a powerful emblem linking the warrior to Odin and the afterlife.

Accompanying the sword is a leather sheath designed to be worn over the shoulder, secured with two snap closures to keep the blade firmly in place. The sheath also carries the Valknut symbol, marking it as the rightful home for this warrior’s blade.
