This blade is forged from 512 layers of Damascus steel, each layer carefully folded and hammered to weld the steels together. This folding process creates the distinctive flowing patterns known as Damascus, which also serve to blend the hardness and flexibility of the steel. After the initial forging, the blade is hand-filed to sharpen the edge and refine its profile. It is then acid-etched to bring out the contrasting layers, revealing the blade’s unique texture. This method not only gives the blade its characteristic appearance but also contributes to its durability and resilience in use.
