Description
This drop point utility blade is forged from 512 layers of hand-welded Damascus steel. Each layer is folded and hammered over and again, creating the swirling patterns that tell the story of the blade’s making, patterns unique to every blade. Once forged, the steel is tempered to strike a balance between hardness for holding an edge and flexibility to resist breaking. The edge is then shaped and refined by hand filing, ensuring a keen and reliable cutting surface. The blade’s surface is etched with acid to bring out the distinctive Damascus patterns, revealing the many folds within the steel. Along the spine, a ridged thumb rest is forged into the metal, giving the user extra grip and control during use. The blade’s tang is drilled to accept 1/8″ pins, allowing it to be securely mounted into a handle of your choosing.
