Description
This dagger bears a 10-inch double-edged blade, forged through the traditional layering of 1095 high-carbon steel with 15N20 nickel steel. The smith heats and folds these steels together repeatedly, building up roughly 280 to 350 layers of Damascus steel. This process not only reveals a distinctive ladder pattern unique to each blade but also yields a resilient edge that resists shattering and retains sharpness far better than many single-steel blades. The blade’s tang is secured within a hand-carved handle made from sheesham wood, stained a deep brown. The handle’s rounded shape fits comfortably in the hand, with a subtle protrusion serving as a guard. Separating blade and handle is a brass chappe, while the pommel is capped with a 12-pointed star crafted from pure brass,a motif echoed on the hand-tooled leather sheath. The russet brown leather sheath, designed with a paddle back and belt loop, offers a fitting home for this finely forged dagger when it’s not at the ready.
