This fighting knife was traditionally worn on the same side as the wielder’s dominant hand, slipped through a sash or belt for quick and ready access. The blade’s recurved shape is designed to enhance slashing motions, allowing the fighter to deliver swift, slicing strikes with the cutting edge facing outward. Forged from 512 layers of Damascus steel, the blade strikes a balance between strength and flexibility, traits highly valued in Indo-Persian weaponry. The full tang runs the entire length of the handle, lending both balance and resilience, while solid brass bolsters and bone scales are securely pinned to endure the stresses of battle. The scabbard reflects traditional craftsmanship, made from wood and covered in velvet embroidered with regional motifs, capped with a brass chape to protect the tip.

  • Overall length: 10-1/2″
  • Blade length: 6-1/2″, width: 1″, thickness: 3/16″
  • Weight: 8 oz

Fun fact: The distinctive layered pattern of Damascus steel was not only admired for its beauty but was also believed to strengthen the blade’s spirit, granting the wielder confidence and protection in battle across the Indo-Persian lands.
