Description
This handcrafted dagger from India is in itself a showcase of the traditional Indian bladesmithing arts; it has an unsharpened blade of damascus steel with an inlaid silver floret on a single side of the blade. The hilt is steel and it has been thoroughly embellished with koftgari inlay silver. The blade tang is fixed into the grip by completely filling the hilt with a hardened resin – this is a traditional method for hilting many edged weapons in India. The dagger is paired with a steel sheath of koftgari inlay – it is lined on the inside with velvet to cushion the blade and prevent scratching when drawing from the sheath.
