Given their handmade nature and the passage of time in storage, you may find some surface marks,such as small rust spots or faint scratches,but these are merely skin deep and do not affect the blade’s strength or your ability to forge it into a reliable weapon. These blades hail from surplus stock of old Windlass blade blanks, relics that carry the silent weight of history. Their patterns echo styles favored in various historic periods, often seen in reenactments and treasured by those who respect the traditions of arms-making. None arrive sharpened, leaving the smith free to shape and sharpen the edge to exacting specifications. Engraving services can be commissioned to add a personal touch to your work.
Each blade measures 3/16″ thick. The Wide Long Dagger Blade features a diamond-shaped cross-section, a full ricasso to safeguard the hand, and a tapered full tang that extends well beyond the blade, reinforced with a welded section to enhance strength and balance. The overall length is 19-1/2″, with the blade itself spanning 11-1/2″. This design provides a sturdy foundation for a dagger that can serve as both a practical weapon and a tangible piece of living history forged by your own hand.
