Description
This saber, reproduced by Universal Sword of India, is made from a tempered high-carbon steel blade. ??Cuivre?? is a French word for copper or brass, no doubt a reference to the prodigious amount of brass adorning this sword. The hilt is brass with a wire-wrapped grip of hardened leather. The wood-core scabbard is covered with leather and accented with brass fittings and rings. The spine of the blade bears the reproduced signature of ??Klingenthal?? ? The state-run manufactory for swords in east France.
