Description
Many bush pilots have long sought a blade tough enough to endure the rigors of the wild, yet shaped with the precision and balance of a wakizashi, the samurai’s trusted short sword. This wakizashi-inspired chopper answers that call. The blade is hand forged from X46Cr13 stainless steel, a high-carbon alloy prized for its edge retention and resistance to rust. Once forged, it’s tempered in a computer-controlled oven to achieve a consistent hardness throughout the blade. A full profile tang runs the length of the handle, offering the strength and balance needed to chop through thick brush and wood without faltering.
It comes factory sharp, ready to face the demands of the outdoors, and is paired with a sturdy leather sheath reinforced with metal at the throat and tip to protect both blade and bearer. The handle is fitted with weather-resistant rubber scales and a finger guard, designed to absorb shock and maintain a firm grip even when wet or slick with mud.
For those who wish to mark their tool with a personal touch, the blade can be customized with up to three initials, blending a bit of individual craftsmanship into this rugged companion.
- Overall length: 27-1/4″
- Blade length: 20″
Fun fact: The Cobra Steel wakizashi blade draws its name from the cobra snake, renowned for its resilience and flexibility, traits that blacksmiths aim to mirror during tempering, crafting a blade that bends under pressure without breaking in the field.
