Description
This pair of voiders are intended to be sewn onto the underarm and the sides of the torso on a gambeson or thick garment meant to be worn under plate armor; this gives mail protection to areas that cannot be effectively covered by plate, such as the armpit and the openings around the arm of the breastplate.
The voiders are constructed from flat, dome-riveted links of mail; the individual links are 9 mm in diameter and 18 gauge in thickness. The links are stainless steel that has been darkened.
