Description
This pair of sleeve and shoulder panels can be stitched onto a gambeson for additional armor protection or to wear beneath plate armor to provide mail protection underneath the gaps of plate armor. The panels are constructed from riveted flat links of mild steel which alternate with solid flat rings of mild steel. Each link measures 9 mm in diameter and 17 gauge in thickness.
These panels can also be used as a shortcut toward fitting an extension to a mail vest or haubergeon, though you should expect to have to modify and tailor it by adding or subtracting links to get a proper fit with the original armor piece.
