Its blade is light and sharp, designed for swift, precise cuts with minimal effort. The spine features a notch that allows the thumb to apply pressure, enhancing control during use. The blade’s textured finish contrasts with a handle fashioned from buffalo horn, complemented by an inox ring, a red fiber spacer, and a nickel silver rivet. This knife is crafted to be worn around the neck, ready for quick access when a reliable cutting tool is needed.
The blade is forged from imported XC75 high carbon steel and undergoes differential hardening in the Japanese tradition. This technique hardens the cutting edge to retain sharpness while leaving the spine and tang softer and more flexible, reducing the risk of breakage. The blade’s edge is ground to a full convex profile, a shape that enhances edge retention and durability during heavy use.
Included with the knife is a full grain leather sheath designed for neck carry. Because XC75 is a high carbon steel prone to rust, it is advisable not to store the knife long-term in the leather sheath. Instead, use the provided nylon zipper pouch to protect the blade during extended storage.
