Description
This brown leather sword frog is crafted from sturdy, thick leather, designed to endure the rigors of daily use in the field. It features two steel buckles with adjustable straps, allowing the wearer to secure the scabbard firmly at the hip. The construction is reinforced with brass rivets, which provide both strength and resistance to wear. Two integrated belt loops ensure the frog stays aligned and stable when threaded onto a belt. This frog accommodates most scabbards with a throat width of about 2 inches or more, making it suitable for a variety of medieval and early modern swords. However, it is not suited for very slender scabbards such as those of thin rapiers, smallswords, or narrow sabers, as it cannot be tightened enough to hold them securely. The buckles allow for adjustment up to a maximum scabbard width of approximately 3 1/8 inches.
