Our Hawksley Replica Black Powder Flasks are made to work just as the originals did. Every detail is carefully reproduced, including the authentic markings,there are no modern stamps or branding to break the historical feel. The brass is polished bright at first but will develop a natural patina over time, much like a true antique flask that’s been carried for years.
This pocket flask lets you measure powder precisely with adjustable settings at 5/16, 1/4, and 3/16 drams. It has a removable brass head fitted with a Sykes flameproof valve, a design known for safely controlling the powder flow and preventing accidental ignition. Made from polished brass with a high copper content, it closely resembles the original flasks made by G. & J.W. Hawksley. The copper not only adds a warm, rich color but also strengthens the metal. Its “bag” shape is ideal for use with pistols, and a lanyard loop at the base allows you to hang the flask from a cord or strap for quick access. Dating from around 1830 to 1870, this flask was suited for pistols, revolvers, or as a compact day flask for rifles.
