Here we have a historic blade pattern drawn from old ACC catalogs, shaped by hand forging high carbon steel in the traditional manner. Each blade bears the marks of its forging,slight irregularities, occasional surface rust, and some scratches from years of storage,but these tell the story of the blade’s journey and do not weaken its core strength or performance once properly shaped and sharpened. This is raw material intended for the smith ready to bring it to life, whether for reenactment, collection, or practical use. None come with a sharpened edge, leaving you free to finish it exactly as you see fit.
The blade follows the Western-style Bowie design, with a tapered full tang providing solid strength and balanced handling. Each blank is a robust 3/16″ thick, measuring 16-3/4″ overall with a 10-1/4″ cutting edge. Custom engraving can be added to lend a personal or period-appropriate touch.
Fun fact: Bowie knife blade blanks like these were often forged from simple bar stock and shaped entirely by hand, so no two blades were ever exactly the same,even when crafted in the same smithy. This uniqueness gave each Bowie its own character on the rugged frontier.
