Description

APOC Brutus – Gladius Sword designed by Gus Trim

The APOC Brutus carries forward a tradition of brutal efficiency in close combat, drawing from the classic Roman gladius style while incorporating modern blade geometry refined by the Atrim school. This sword balances lightness and strength, tipping the scales at just under 2 pounds overall. Its 18-inch blade, crafted from 9260 high-carbon steel with a black coating, is designed to deliver powerful cuts and precise thrusts. The blade’s taper and thickness,5.8mm at the guard and thinning to 2mm at the tip, allow it to slice through targets with minimal resistance while maintaining durability.

The handle is a full tang construction, milled from G10, a tough composite material favored for its resistance to moisture and temperature changes, ensuring a secure grip even in adverse conditions. Measuring just over 5 ½ inches, the handle fits comfortably in one hand, providing excellent control and balance. The sword’s point of balance sits about 2 5/8 inches from the guard, lending it a nimble feel that aids in quick maneuvering and responsive strikes.

Accompanying the blade is a MOLLE-compatible sheath, allowing for easy attachment to gear or a bug-out bag, making it practical for survival scenarios. The design remains true to the spirit of the gladius, simple, effective, and built to inspire confidence in its wielder.
