Description
The Faire Regular Adjustable Baldric Belt is designed to be worn slung over one shoulder, crossing the chest to support a sword at the opposite hip. This setup allows the sword’s weight to rest comfortably at the waist, while the shoulder strap helps distribute the load, making it easier to carry during long marches or battles. Crafted from sturdy, genuine leather, the baldric features antiqued brass rivets and buckles that not only hold the belt securely but also add a touch of period-appropriate detail. The section where the sword’s scabbard rests is reinforced with thick leather, stitched and riveted for durability. This scabbard area is adjustable via buckles, allowing it to fit swords of varying lengths. Additionally, the belt itself has nine punched holes to fine-tune the fit around the body. This style of baldric was commonly used for long swords and claymores but can accommodate most medieval sword types. Note that the sword shown is not included.
Fun fact: Adjustable leather baldrics with brass hardware were practical not only for carrying swords but also helped identify a warrior’s rank and allegiance through different styles and decorations.
