Description
This drop point blade is forged from 512 layers of Damascus steel, each layer folded and hammered together in the forge to create the swirling patterns that give this blade its character. The steel is carefully tempered to strike a balance between hardness,so it holds a sharp edge,and flexibility,so it resists breaking under stress. After forging, the blade is hand-filed to bring the edge to a keen sharpness and to smooth the surface. The etching process reveals the layered structure within the steel, a signature of the time-honored forging method that welds many thin layers into one resilient blade.
