Description
This saber faithfully replicates the style carried by Union cavalry officers during the Civil War. The blade is hand forged from British military specification steel, prized for its toughness,it can bend beyond 20 degrees under pressure and return to its original shape without dulling or warping. The grip is wrapped tightly in leather and wire, designed to stay firmly in hand during the chaos of mounted combat. Its brass guard, shaped in a three-branch form, is hand chased and engraved, as is the brass pommel, showcasing the decorative motifs common to the era. Etched onto the blade are markings including “U.S.” and the motto “E Pluribus Unum,” framed by foliage and military trophies, emblems that reinforced the officer’s duty and pride. The steel scabbard features brass fittings at the throat, suspension rings, and drag, providing both protection for the blade and period-accurate detail.
