Description

Forged from sturdy 1045 high carbon steel, this training katana carries the strength and resilience needed for rigorous practice. The blade, sharpened to a keen edge, features a deep bohi groove that lightens the sword without sacrificing durability, and a traditional wave-like hamon pattern that speaks to the heat treatment process used to harden the edge while keeping the spine more flexible. The blade’s full tang extends into a simple, natural wood handle, secured with bamboo pegs that are carefully sanded flush and coated with lacquer to provide a smooth, comfortable grip. A solid brass habaki fits snugly at the base of the blade, locking the sword securely into the scabbard. The accompanying hardwood saya is crafted to meet the handle seamlessly, creating a clean, flush silhouette. A black dust cover is included to protect your sword from moisture and dust when not in use, helping to preserve its condition over time.
